With the property market showing no sign of slowing down and house prices continuing to rise, it is becoming increasingly more difficult for the average first time buyer to get onto the first step of the ever-steepening ladder. Whilst a range of government schemes have been implemented over the years in an attempt to bridge the gap between an individual’s earnings and the required deposit, the average amount of money needed for first time buyers is becoming ever more unattainable.

THE OFF PLAN, PLAN

One of the options available, that is becoming progressively more popular and has been deemed by some as a solution is buying properties before they are even built and investing in an off-plan solution. Dubbed by many as an appealing way forward, it has allowed many buyers to get onto the property ladder and capitalise on the buoyant and market.

For many the very notion of reserving a property during the earliest stages of the construction process can result in buying at a more competitive price and in some instances, even allow for an increment in property value before reaching the completion of construction, an investment that many have cleverly identified and reaped the benefits of.

However, buying off-plan is not for the faint hearted as it requires you to be very decisive and fast moving. This need for haste is not only in relation to choosing the best property available on the market but also getting in on the early bird deals which can result in considerable savings.

Another benefit of choosing to purchase a property off-plan is being able to select fittings, finishes and fixtures from some developers before ever moving in. Of course, with all this done before the contractor even finishes on the site, this allows for a far greater deal of customisation and personalisation in a much easier and often more affordable way. Off plan if executed correctly can not only save money but allows you to effectively, build your home from the ground up.
